Participants

General prize: To take part, entrants must hold Bancaja credit or debit cards.

Special Club Servicio Pensión Prize: entrants must be members of Club Servicio Pensión, aged over 65.

In all cases, to be entitled to prizes the entrants must not have outstanding obligations to the bank. Bancaja employees may not compete.

Subject

The subject is to be chosen by entrants. Files with contents compromising the right to freedom from injury to honour, personal or family privacy or self-image will not be published or accepted. In short, no file will be accepted which is against current legislation.

Work

A maximum of 3 photographs may be presented per participant. They must be photographs which have not won awards in any other competition.

Presentation

The photographs must have been taken with a digital camera. Winners must present the camera used to take the photograph and the original photograph to certify authenticity.

Image manipulation is permitted as long as this applies to the entire image (brightness, contrast, etc). However, image manipulation is not permitted to add or eliminate elements, combine various photographs or modify the original composition.

The photographs must comply with the following requirements:
  • The photographs must be JPG files.
  • They must have a minimum resolution of 1,024 pixels.
  • The total file cannot be more than 5 megabytes (MB).

Identification and delivery

To enter, go to www.concursofotografiabancaja.com and fill in the entry form, where you can upload the photograph. Entrants must include the following information:

  • Full name of the entrant
  • Nick
  • ID number with letter, NIF number or NIE number
  • Contact email address
  • Contact telephone nº
  • Model of camera used
  • Picture title

Dates for entry

The dates for receiving photos will begin on 10 September 2008 and end on 10 November 2008, both inclusive.

Jury decision

The jury will make its decision on 19 November 2008. If in the opinion of the Jury no work of sufficient quality has been presented, the awards may be declared null.

Prizes

3 prizes will be awarded to the 3 best photographers. The prizes will be:

  • 1st prize: 3,000 euros
  • 2nd prize: 2,000 euros
  • 3rd prize: 1,500 euros

An extraordinary prize will be awarded to the best photograph from an entrant over 65. The prize will be:

Bancaja Pensioners Extraordinary Prize: 1,400 euros

To be eligible for the Special Prize Club Servicio Pensión, participants must be members of Club Servicio Pensión over 65. The winning photographs of the other prizes cannot be considered for this Special Prize.

The prizes will be liable for tax according to current legislation. Bancaja reserves the right to publish or reproduce itself or through third parties, all photographs submitted, without limit in time or place, citing in all cases the name of the photographer.

Exhibition

As images are received, Bancaja will publish them. The images can be seen at www.concursofotografiabancaja.com without implying an indication of the final decision of the jury.

Awarding the prizes

The prizes will be awarded on 19 December at 7 pm in the Centre Cultural Bancaixa, Valencia. Entrance will be from Calle de Mar and the event will be in the Ausias March room (third floor).

General Regulations

After the jury’s decision, this will not be definitive for eight days until possible claims regarding the “no previous prizes” clause, as mentioned in the section Work, have been resolved. After this period and in the absence of counterclaims, the decision will be firm and not open to appeal.

Reproduction rights: It is understood that participants authorise the reproduction of their work without payment for copyright, without limit to systems, media or countries. Participants are fully responsible for ensuring there are no third party rights in the works presented or any claim for image rights. Participation in this competition implies total acceptance of these rules. The resolution to be adopted for any incident not covered by these bases will be decided by Bancaja, who will resolve it to the best of its ability, without need for other recourse.

The entrant is informed that all personal information gathered will be included in the databases of Bancaja, who will be responsible for the file, and will be treated for the purposes of entry. The highlighted information must be filled in, as otherwise the entry cannot be processed. The entrant expressly authorises Bancaja to treat his or her information in order to send to his or her address any type of information concerning Grupo Bancaja which may be of interest. The entrant has the right at any time to access, rectify, cancel or oppose the treatment of personal information, by writing to Bancaja at the following address: c/Pintor Sorolla nº 8, 46003 Valencia.
